My Genealogy Welcome Page

My connection to the Marvel family is through Robert Marvel III (my number) who moved from Delaware to Ohio and then on to Indiana. He was a remarkable man who survived hardships of all kinds during his lifetime. Robert was a man like many others who moved West seeking a new life for himself and his family.

Here I will share the information that I have gleaned from my research into our family connections.   The Marvel – Hayes – Steininger – Weaver  families along with the network of connecting families.  The pages of this website are a work in progress.  I need to disclose up front that the descendant reports included on the site contains some information that has not been completely verified with sources. These reports are a combination of my research and the research of others.  Please check back for updates.  When I find new information, I will make the necessary corrections. I am in the process of placing all of the family Descendancy reports in one area to make it more convenient for those researching their connections.

If you find that I have incorrect information or additions that you would like to see, please give me your comments in the Contact area above.

Alan Marvel’s Family Tree

Who were they?  Where did they come from?  Where did they go?  Were they rich or poor?  When I started this journey over twenty years ago, I  did not have the advantage of having many living members of my immediate family to ask these questions. Over the years, I have been able to fill in my family tree with more and more ancestors.

We have traveled to Indiana, Ohio, Maryland and Delaware in pursuit of information and family identity. The Internet has been a big help. I have also had the assistance of so many relatives who also are seeking information on our families.  As many find, researching your ancestors can lead you to dead ends and misinformation. I have tried to sift through the information and report only that which is fact. When I could not determine fact or fiction, I tried to give all the information I could find. On Ancestry.com I have been able to keep everything in order and following a path to success. Marvelcreations.com (no longer on the net) has given me a lot of information about the branch of the Marvel family that settled in Gibson County, Indiana as well as the descendants of John Marvell.

My name is Alan Marvel. Let’s go on a journey!
